STATEMENT OF CONDEMNATION FROM THE WORLD FELLOWSHIP OF ORTHODOX YOUTH IN AFRICA AND THE URBAN-RURAL MISSION FOR COMMUNITY, JUSTICE AND SOLIDARITY IN EASTERN AFRICA

"We condemn in the stongest terms the senseless inhuman attack on the United States of America leading to horrific destruction of innocent lives and enormous properties in the Business Centre of New York, Washington at the Pentagon. This is a critical test on the peace and solidarity exisiting in the world.

We are at the verge of massive violence if such insenstive acts of terrorism continue to happen at a time when we are all making efforts to mend fences with each other and between nations.

All patience and restrain must not be exhausted on the part of all the powers that be so that we might revert the possibility of greater conflicts. We are with you President Bush and all the people of the United States of America at this very difficult moment.

We pray for the bereaved families that in losing your dear ones, you become the chief agents of peace and civilised conflict resolution in the world. We pray for eternal repause for those who have lost their lives, their memory shall be eternal.

We apeal to all world leader to listen to God's still small voice saying, "forgive them for they do not know what they are doing, and with this heart of forgiveness, let us tighten our resolve to root out terrorism from the world".

This is indeed a trying moment for America and the entire world. Let us bear the pain with love and consolation of one another that one day, sooner that later, the parpetrators will be brought to book.
