IOCC Emergency Response Alert
"BALTIMORE (IOCC) - International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC)
working in cooperation with its network of volunteers in New York, local
Orthodox parishes and the Hierarchs of the Standing Conference of Canonical
Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA) is assessing the need for emergency
aid to victims of the terrorist attacks in the United States.
"All of us are deeply troubled by these unconscionable acts," said
IOCC Chairman of the Board Charles Ajalat. "In this time of uncertainty our
prayers are with the families of those innocent people whose lives were
taken and who were injured in these tragedies."
"We are assessing the current emergency needs in cooperation with
local partners," said Ajalat. "The situation is still unfolding, but it is
clear that the needs will be tremendous."
IOCC will be supporting efforts to assist local organizations that
are providing emergency supplies, assistance to the injured and support for
local parishes and community organizations that are responding to the
emergencies.
